अम्बे तू है जगदम्बे काली, जय दुर्गे खप्पर वाली। तेरे ही गुण गाएँ भारती, ओ मैया हम सब उतारें तेरी आरती॥
तेरे भक्त जनों पर माता, भीर पड़ी है भारी। दानव दल पर टूट पड़ो माँ, करके सिंह सवारी॥
सौ-सौ सिंहों से बलशाली, अष्ट भुजाओं वाली। दुष्टों को तू ही ललकारे, दानव दल संहारी॥
मो को माँ का सहारा, कौन सुने मेरी पुकारी। निज भक्तों के कारन तूने, रूप लिए कई न्यारी॥
चण्ड-मुण्ड संहारे माँ ने, शुम्भ-निशुम्भ संहारे। रक्तबीज से दुष्ट पापी, तूने पल में मारे॥
ब्रह्मा, विष्णु, शिवजी ने, तेरी महिमा गाई। प्रेम सहित जो ध्यावे, उसकी विपदा नशाई॥
English Transliteration & Meaning
O Mother Ambe, you are Jagadamba Kali, glory to Durga, the bearer of the skull-cup! All Bharat sings your virtues — we all offer your aarti.
Mother, great calamity has fallen upon your devotees — riding your lion, fall upon the demon hordes.
Stronger than a hundred lions, eight-armed Goddess — only you challenge the wicked and slay the demon armies.
Mine is only the Mother's refuge — who else hears my cry? For your devotees you have taken many wondrous forms.
The Mother slew Chanda and Munda, destroyed Shumbha and Nishumbha; even the wicked Raktabija she annihilated in an instant.
Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva have sung your glory; whoever meditates on you with love finds his calamities destroyed.
